Leak: Philips Hue module connects Nanoleaf to Hue App, Hue Play Sync Camera said to be affordable

While Signify still does not offer an alternative to the versatile Nanoleaf wall lights, it should soon be possible to integrate the competitor’s lights into the Philips Hue system. HueBlog has already published the first images and details about the so-called Philips Hue Wall Light Module.
It is a small, white box that connects directly to the Nanoleaf Shapes Mini Triangles, Triangles, or Hexagons ($135 on Amazon). The Nanoleaf controller will apparently not be replaced. Power is supplied directly via the Nanoleaf Shapes power cable, so no additional cable is required. Once the adapter is connected, the Nanoleaf Shapes wall light appears in the Philips Hue app and can be integrated into scenes and automations.
However, it does not appear to be possible to control the color of each panel individually. Instead, only gradients across five points can be created. The Philips Hue Wall Light Module can reportedly control up to 100 Nanoleaf modules and is set to hit the market at a price of €39.99. This product is expected to be officially unveiled in early September at IFA, presumably at the same time as the new Philips Hue Play Screen Sync camera.
Initial details about this camera were already leaked in July. Now, Smartlights has uncovered new images and details about it. According to this report, the camera will be priced at €109, so it will be even more affordable than the also-new Philips Hue Play Sync Box Lite, and supports content from any HDMI device as well as content streamed directly through the smart TV’s operating system.
A fisheye camera captures the entire display, allowing the colors and brightness of the Philips Hue lights in the living room to be synchronized with the screen content. The downside of the camera is that it has to be mounted somewhat unsightly at the top center of the smart TV. It also remains to be seen whether the camera can synchronize lights as quickly and precisely as the Sync Box.
