Deal: Retro RPG in the style of Pokémon is free to keep on Steam for a short time

This promotion runs until August 26 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Dokimon Quest was clearly inspired by classic Pokémon games, as the game not only features pixel art in the style of Game Boy Color titles but also offers turn-based battles in which up to 140 different monsters can be deployed – just eleven fewer than the first generation of Pokémon offered.

The Pokémon influence runs deep, as trainers can have up to six Pokémon monsters on their team at once, catch wild monsters with Poké Ball Capture Cards, and select one of up to four attacks, with monsters able to learn new attacks by leveling up. Even Shiny Pokémon are part of the game, as each monster is available in seven different color variants, one of which is particularly rare in each case.
 

Swimming, fishing, caves – anyone who has played Pokémon will quickly find their way around Dokimon Quest. The game features a world with 15 cities and promises a campaign that offers between 15 and 20 hours of gameplay. With four save slots, battles that optionally take place directly in the game world rather than in a separate interface, and the option to speed up battles with an action button, the game offers several modern convenience features. According to SteamDB, Dokimon Quest has a 73 percent positive rating and, thanks to this promotion, currently has more than 1,000 concurrent players.
