Every Seiko, Casio, and Citizen watch launched in August so far: The ultimate roundup

The first half of August brought a massive run of releases from Japan's three largest watchmakers, with Casio accounting for most of the volume. This is a tight, consolidated list — we have separated new announcements from watches that were already known and only reached pricing or retail availability this month.

Casio

The single most important day was August 7, when five lines moved from preorder to general sale in Japan. The Pro Trek PRJ-B001EX-1JR (¥33,000) comes first with a reversible band that unzips into a coin pouch. The F-B100W trio (¥8,800) pairs the classic F-91W style with Bluetooth step tracking, and sold out on Casio's own store within hours. The MRW-240H (¥6,050) is a dive-styled analog with an aluminium bezel insert and acrylic glass. The Edifice EFS-S660D-1AJF and EFS-S660PB-1AJF (¥33,000) are both solar chronographs with sapphire crystal, the PB with Toyota Racing branding. The Oceanus Retro Tone pair closed the batch — Manta OCW-S400RL-8AJR at ¥165,000 in 300 pieces, and Classic Line OCW-T2600RL-3AJR at ¥115,500 in 500.

Coming over to the G-Shock side, the resin-strap G-Steel GST-B1000-1AJF and -2AJF arrived August 1 at ¥60,500, weighing 58 grams against 118 for the metal versions. The Master in Horizon Gold trio became official as well: Mudmaster GG-B100XMH-5A (¥60,500), Mudman GW-9500MH-5 (¥63,800) and GravityMaster GR-B300H-5A (¥49,500). Also new were the monochrome GMA-P2110B pair, the GD-350S with vibration alerts and 200 m water resistance, and the Baby-G BG-169GD in two colorways at ¥12,650. A Korea-only Undermycar collaboration, the DW-5600UMC26-1DR, dropped August 6 across four retail channels with no price or unit count disclosed. And while this isn't exactly a new launch, MY G-Shock (Casio's Japan-only customisation service) got four colorways. Custom builds start at ¥24,200.

At the affordable end, the F-91WF became official on August 3 with recycled-PET cloth straps in three colorways, the MTP-1440DJ arrived at ¥7,700 with a day-date display and brass case, and the MTP-E740 series debuted August 5 in five colorways with transparent dials. The Tank-style LTP-B150 separately reached US retail at $89.95.

Seiko 

One of the fastest growing Japanese watch brands, Seiko front-loaded the month. August 1 brought the Essentials HGK001 and HGK002 quartz chronographs on the 8T63 caliber at roughly $440, the Asia-Pacific Prospex HBB003 and HBB004 at 2,500 pieces each, and a Grand Seiko SBGA525 limited to 30 pieces for Watches of Switzerland at Jewel Changi. The Europe-only Prospex HBC010 came through on August 3 — 1,400 pieces, Lake Hallstatt green dial, 6R55 caliber, £1,450.

August 4 and 5 added the second Initial D collaboration, a Keisuke Takahashi RX-7 chronograph limited to 1,995 serialized pieces at ¥65,780 through Premico; a Seiko 5 Sports Field x Honda Motocompo edition with a yellow dial and 4R36 caliber; and a global release for the 5 Sports Field GMT.

The 145th anniversary programme's third wave landed August 6: six Edo purple limited editions across Prospex, Presage, Astron, 5 Sports and the revived Rotocall, with the Astron capped at 2,000 pieces. A seventh, absent from the international announcement, is the Japan-only Lukia HEE004J — 400 pieces, pure titanium, 11 lab-grown diamonds, ¥130,900. Two Presage Classic Series references just released today: HCC005 and HCC006. They closed the period with enamel and urushi dials referencing the 1913 Laurel, from £1,250. 

Three earlier releases also secured new info. The Tomioka Silk HCC008 received US pricing at $1,150. The Cocktail Time HCB001J1, HCB002J1 and HCB003J1 expanded beyond Japan into Singapore at SGD 708.50 and the UK at £420. The Seiko x FTC collaboration was priced at $460 and $500.

A third Presage Classic reference, the Tradman's Bonsai HCC009J, followed on August 12 (yesterday) — 2,000 pieces, a textured green dial and gold-tone case, 38 mm, with a global September release.

Citizen

Citizen was the quietest of the three, but we still saw some cool drops from the company. Four open-heart automatics from the Citizen Collection went on sale August 6 in Japan, using 41 mm cases, the Caliber 8229, a 42-hour reserve and 100 m water resistance, with no global release confirmed. A World Chronograph A.T. with Eco-Drive and radio-controlled timekeeping across 26 time zones appeared in the UK on August 11, in a 43 mm case with a green dial.

Two previously announced watches also reached Western pricing. The limited Tsuyosa Shore "Time Slip" NJ0238-57E was confirmed at $525, above the $462.50 projected at announcement. The Tsuyosa 60 37 mm NK0030-51E arrived at $595 in the US and £399 in the UK, making it more expensive than the limited edition. A Promaster Seahawk x Sikorsky, the BN0207-06H, went on sale in the US on August 7 at $575 — a 43.5 mm Super Titanium diver in monochrome grey with an orange seconds hand, ISO-certified to 200 metres, with the MH-60R helicopter engraved on the caseback.

We already know Casio's Japanese pricing rarely maps directly onto US or European retail, and a decent chunk of the above — the Oceanus pair, the Lukia, and the Citizen automatics — are domestic-only for now.
