Casio has added four fresh colorways to MY G-Shock in Japan, sold as Magma Orange, Strato Blue, Slime Pink and Bio Green. The DWE-5610 customization service now starts at ¥24,200 (~$153), up 57% from its ¥15,400 launch price in 2021. Japan only.

Casio's naming department has had an unusually relaxed week. Four new colorways have now joined the MY G-Shock customization service in Japan. Preset combinations, as per @geesgshock, are named as "Orange is my favourite," "I like light blue," "Pink is my favourite" and "Green is my favourite."

The individual parts get more conventional treatment. The same four shades are sold as Magma Orange, Strato Blue, Slime Pink and Bio Green when used as components in a custom build. Casio names presets and parts separately, which is why the catalog reads as though two different companies wrote it. The additions were also spotted by @geesgshock on Instagram.

MY G-Shock has run since October 2021 as a Casio online store exclusive, limited to Japan. It uses the DWE-5610, a square case with Carbon Core Guard construction, and lets buyers choose colours for the bezel, band, dial, buttons, buckle and strap keeper independently. Casio counted roughly 1.9 million possible combinations at launch, rising to about 658 million with the triple strap keeper selected.

It has also become considerably more expensive. A custom build started at ¥15,400 in 2021. The entry price is now ¥24,200, around $153, a 57 percent rise across the service's life, with ¥2,200 of that added in September 2024 alone. Clear resin parts and ion-plated buckles cost extra on top.

Casio accepts a fixed number of orders each week and pauses when that allocation fills, and parts marked "Limited" are not restocked once gone, so a build designed around one cannot be reordered. Delivery takes three to five weeks, and shipping stays within Japan.

Despite carrying 5610 in its reference, the DWE-5610 uses a bezel closer in size to the 5600 series than the 5610 family, which can be a little annoying for buyers who source third-party parts later.
