New Citizen Tsuyosa 60 compact automatic now available to buy in the US/UK with updated Caliber 8310

Citizen has listed the Tsuyosa 60 37 mm at $595 in the US and £399 in the UK, and the figure is once again, somewhat interesting. The NK0030-51E is regular production, uncapped, and it costs $70 more than the Tsuyosa Shore "Time Slip" (read our coverage here) that Citizen limited to 12,000 pieces.

The reason is the movement. The Shore is powered by Caliber 8210, good for about 42 hours. This uses Caliber 8310, which holds roughly 60. One could say that it isn't a substantial gap, but that's the difference between a watch that can survive a weekend off the wrist and one that does not. Citizen had previously included the 8310 only in 40 mm cases, and the 37 mm case only with the older movement. This is the first time both are arriving together.

Everything else is pretty standard. The silver-tone steel case comes with an integrated five-link bracelet with a push-button deployment clasp. An anti-reflective sapphire sits over a finely machined black dial with a date window at three. Water resistance is 50 metres, half the Shore's rating; an exhibition caseback shows the movement running at 21,600 vph across 21 jewels.

Regional pricing, just like the Tsuyosa Shore, is a little confusing. The £399 UK figure converts to nearly $539 at current rates, but that includes VAT. The non-tax price is closer to $449, against a US listing that excludes sales tax entirely.

Citizen introduced the Tsuyosa 60 37 mm in gold-tone first, and this black-dialled steel reference is the follow-up. Both are available in the permanent collection, not a capped run.
