ASUS is just over a week away from introducing the ROG Ally X, its second gaming handheld that is rumoured to be shipping with a huge 80 Wh battery, among other changes from the original ROG Ally (curr. $399.99 on Amazon). Incidentally, only a few days have passed since AYANEO introduced a new set of products itself. To recap, while the company had presented a few of them before, the likes of the AM01S and Pocket Micro received their first outing. For reference, the products detailed on May 18 were as follows:
Now, AYANEO has released refreshed versions of the KUN and 2S, as well as the AIR 1S that we have linked above. As far as we can tell, the company has only swapped these gaming handhelds' previous APUs for the Ryzen 7 8840U, one of the more powerful entries in AMD's Hawk Point-U series. Ultimately, little separates the Ryzen 7 8840U from the Ryzen 7 7840U. Nonetheless, the former averages a 5% lead over the latter in our benchmarks.
AYANEO's new roster of Ryzen 7 8840U-powered gaming handhelds is orderable now through Indiegogo. Please note that although the company has opened pre-orders today, it does not intend to ship any AIR 1S, 2S or KUN refresh orders until early August. Full pricing for the updated trio can be found in the images below.
