In March of this year, Asus launched the ROG NUC, a high-end mini PC designed with undeniably gamer aesthetics and support for discrete GPUs. To cater to business users who prefer a more understated design, Asus has now introduced the NUC 14 Performance, which offers similar internals as the ROG NUC but with a more sleeper look.
The NUC 14 Performance is equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H chip, boasting 16 cores (6 performance and 10 efficiency) and 22 threads, capable of boosting up to 5,1 GHz (p-cores only) paired with up to 64 GB of DDR4-4400 memory. Unlike the NUC 14 Pro (barebones version curr. $580 on Amazon), it features a discrete GPU - up to an Nvidia RTX 4070 Laptop, delivering solid graphics performance. This is all powered by a robust 330 W power supply, the same as what is found in the ROG NUC.
Connectivity options for the NUC 14 Performance are plenty, including 4x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, 1x HDMI 2.1 port, 2x DisplayPort 1.4a, 1x Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, 2.5G Ethernet, SD Express slot with UHS-I support, and an audio combo jack. All of this comes in a compact form factor, with a volume of just 2.5 L and a weight of 800 g.
Although there is no word from Asus regarding the NUC 14 Performance's price, it can be expected to be priced identically to the similarly specced ROG NUC, which currently starts at $1,629 for the Core Ultra 7 155H + RTX 4060 version.
