Steam Deck now offers 29% larger verified game library than Nintendo Switch
The Steam Deck passed the 14,000 rated games milestone back in March of this year. With that, Valve’s gaming handheld beat the Nintendo Switch (available on Amazon) in terms of game library. For those wondering, the latter, according to a third-party database, currently has 11,009 titles. But Valve didn’t stop there. The company has rated around 200 more games in just 70 days.
Of course, not all of them have the Verified rating, which basically means that the game runs great on the Steam Deck. There are currently 4,719 titles with this rating. The 9,499 others have a Playable rating, which, according to Valve, indicates that the game will run on the handheld but requires some tweaking to get a proper experience.
It’s worth noting that not all the new titles that got verified by Valve are newly released games for Steam Deck. Old ones can enter the tiered system through a re-evaluation and get themselves rated if the developers make changes to meet the requirements. Also, there are some games that you can run on the gaming handheld but are not rated by the company.
One good example in that regard would be Horizon Forbidden West. Users have already proved that the game can be configured to run well on the Steam Deck. But Valve hasn’t rated the title for its gaming handheld yet. There are a couple of more titles that haven’t received any ratings yet despite working well on the hardware.
