While Nintendo fans should welcome nine new games to the Nintendo eShop in May, there will only be six in June. Unlike last month, however, Nintendo is not only giving the Switch (available on Amazon for $297) indie titles, but also a few well-known games that fans have been waiting a long time for. Fans of splashes of color will be pleased to hear that the new Splatoon 3 sizzle season starts on June 1.
Splatoon 3: Sizzle Season - June 1st
For Splatoon 3 players, the new sizzle season starts on June 1, bringing lots of new content to the colorful third-person shooter. There will be new weapons such as the defensive special weapon Big Bubbler and new maps such as Scorch Gorge (desert landscape). There are also brand new events, such as the Salmon Run Next Wave - a cooperative mode in which players have to fight against waves of enemy salmonids and complete special objectives.
STAR WARS: Hunters™ - June 4
STAR WARS: Hunters is a free-to-play arena shooter set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, featuring 4v4 team battles from a third-person perspective. Players can choose from eight different characters, each with their own abilities and styles. For example, there is Rieve, who fights like the Sith with a red laser sword, the experienced rebel sniper Zaina or the Wookie Grozz, who kicks his opponents' asses in close combat. The battles take place in various arenas inspired by iconic Star Wars locations. There are four arenas at release: Mos Espa, The Dune Sea, Reclamation and The Great Arena.
Monster Hunter Stories - June 14
Monster Hunter Stories is the first real role-playing game in the Monster Hunter series. Players take on the role of a "Rider". Instead of hunting monsters, Riders raise them and use them in turn-based battles - similar to the well-known Pokémon games. Players explore an open world, collect monster eggs and hatch them. By training and customizing their so-called "Monsties", players can improve their abilities and gain strategic advantages in battles. However, Monster Hunter Stories is not quite as peaceful as a Pokémon adventure. The world is under threat from the black plague. Players must find and eliminate the source of this plague in order to save the world and its creatures.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance - June 14
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is the definitive version of the highly acclaimed role-playing game, expanded with a completely new storyline. This version offers two complete storylines: the original story "Book of Creation", which focuses on the eternal conflict between angels and demons, and the new story "Book of Vengeance", which revolves around the revenge of the fallen and the enigmatic group of Qadištu. The protagonist, a high school student, is drawn into an alternate Tokyo called Da'at, where he fuses with a mysterious entity to become a Nahobino - a fusion of human and god/demon. With new powers, he explores the destroyed land, fights demons and makes decisions that determine the fate of the world. The game is played from a third-person perspective and battles are turn-based.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble - June 25
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble is a puzzle platformer that offers online multiplayer modes for up to 16 players and a local multiplayer mode for up to 4 players. The special feature of Super Monkey Ball is that the characters do not walk, but roll in balls.
Luigi's Mansion 2 HD - June 27
Luigi's Mansion 2 was first released in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS. Luigi is once again summoned by Professor E. Gadd to hunt down ghosts and restore the Dark Moon, which has been keeping the ghosts peaceful but has now been broken. Equipped with the Poltergust 5000 vacuum cleaner and a flashlight, the Italian moustache-wearer sets off on the hunt, not only fighting off ghosts but also having to solve many different puzzles. On June 27, Luigi's Mansion 2 will be released on the Nintendo Switch in a remastered HD version, which not only features improved graphics but also an expanded multiplayer mode for up to four players.
Tchia - June 27

Players can climb, glide, swim and sail to explore the islands of the archipelago and take creative action in battles against Meavora's cloth soldiers. Tchia has the special gift of transforming into animals and objects to solve puzzles and discover secrets. The story is inspired by New Caledonia and features fully animated cutscenes and a mix of orchestral music and local sounds. Players can customize Tchia's clothes and boat and use her ukulele to play tunes and trigger special events.
