DeviceVM : DeviceVM Splashtop will be powered by MeeGo Linux

MeeGo Linux will be on Splashtop by next year for netbooks, tablets and desktop PCs

DeviceVM’s Splashtop is well known for its quick boot software which allows user to handle some of the applications including a web browser, Skype and e-mail software, but the good part is that you don’t have to wait for Windows to boot your system and the software comes pre-loaded on a variety of netbooks, laptops and major desktop PCs. But in an interesting turn of events, DeviceVM has announced today that the further modules of Splashtop will be powered by MeeGo Linux technology.

When Splashtop use MeeGo Linux, you can expect that the interface will look more on the side of MeeGo. Furthermore, you will be authorized to install third party software using the Intel AppUp center because right now you are not allowed to install extra apps in Splashtop.

There is another good news for the desktop computer owners: DeviceVM will also provide remote desktop software for Splashtop  - as reported by Laptop Magazine. This will allow quick boot for their system and remote controlling their desktop machine. The shipment of Splashtop is expected by next year.
