Verdict - Same performance for a much higher price
Gaming laptops like the Razer Blade 18 face quite a challenge in 2026, because there are no new graphics cards and Intel only released a minor update of its HX-series laptop CPUs, so the overall performance is pretty much the same. However, due to the current memory and storage prices, you simply have to pay much more money to get less equipment, in our case $500 more for 32 GB less RAM and 2 TB less storage.
The Blade 18 is a very powerful system, and the Performance power mode offers excellent gaming power at a relatively quiet fan noise, so the Blade 18 is once again one of the fastest and at the same time quietest high-end gaming laptops you can buy. The IPS screen is good for gaming, but lacks contrast and peak brightness for HDR gaming compared to OLED or Mini-LED screens, so some of the rivals have an advantage in this respect. Since there are no important changes compared to the previous 2025 generation, we recommend you try to get a 2025 model and save some money as long as you can.

Cons
Price and Availability
You can get the Razer Blade 18 2026 with 32 GB RAM and a 2 TB SSD for $5399 from Amazon.
Specifications
Changes compared to the Razer Blade 18 2025
The 2026 model of the Razer Blade 18 is only a minor update with a new Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus instead of the old Core Ultra 9 275HX. Otherwise, you still get the GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop, the 4K IPS screen with 240 Hz (or 440 Hz in Full-HD mode), but the prices have gone up. While the 2025 model with the GeForce RTX 5090, 64 GB RAM and a 4 TB SSD was still $4899, you now pay $5399 for 32 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD. You can still get 64 GB RAM, but it will set you back $600 and 128 GB RAM is another $1,000.
With our new Wi-Fi router, we were able to check the Wi-Fi 7 performance and the Intel B202 module is limited to 160 MHz, so transfer rates are capped at around 2 Gbps. Otherwise, there are no changes compared to the 2025 model, so please check our previous review for more information about the chassis, connectivity, input devices and the display.

Performance
Testing Conditions
Razer once again offers different power modes and we listed them in the table below. We performed our benchmarks and measurements in Turbo mode to get the maximum performance (CPU and GPU), but the gaming performance is actually pretty much identical in Performance mode. Even the Silent mode can still handle modern games if you reduce the resolution or details.
| Power profile | CPU TDP | CB24 Multi | GPU TGP | Time Spy Graphics | CP 2077 QHD Ultra | max. fan noise |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silent | 45/35 watts | 1,140 points | 110 watts | 19,879 points | 88.8 FPS | 41.6 dB(A) |
| Balanced | 100/90 watts | 1,837 points | 155 watts | 24,071 points | 106 FPS | 48 dB(A) |
| Performance | 130/120 watts | 1,971 points | 175 watts | 25,176 points | 113.5 FPS | 48.8 dB(A) |
| Turbo | 160/150 watts | 2,198 points | 175 watts | 25,448 points | 114.1 FPS | 55.9 dB(A) |
| Battery (balanced) | 50/35 watts | 1,199 points | 65 watts | 13,207 points | 62.4 FPS | 31.3 dB(A) |
Processor Performance
The Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus is the fastest mobile processor from Intel and still offers 24 cores (8x Performance, 16x Efficiency) just like the old Core Ultra 9 275HX. The performance across our benchmarks is slightly better than before, but the difference is small. The multi-core performance is stable under sustained workloads, but drops by almost 50 % on battery power (45/35 Watts).

GPU and Gaming Performance
The Blade 18 2026 still uses the GeForce RTX 5090 with a maximum TGP of 175 Watts and Advanced Optimus GPU switching. As expected, the GPU as well as gaming performance is excellent, but the new model is not really faster than the old 2025 unit. You can still play all games at the highest settings in 4K, even though Raytracing will require DLSS and frame generation in very demanding scenarios.

System Noise
We recommend you use the Balanced or Silent mode for everyday tasks, so the fans are very quiet or deactivated. If you really stress the system, we can measure up to 51 dB(A) while gaming and 55 dB(A) during the stress test in Turbo mode, which is obviously very loud. However, as mentioned before, you pretty much get the same gaming performance in Performance mode, which is noticeably quieter at ~49 dB(A). If the game is not quite as demanding, you should try Silent mode, where the fans only reach 41 dB(A). We did not hear any other electronic noises from our review unit.

Temperature
The rear of the device is noticeably warm under heavy loads, but that is actually not a huge problem since there is usually no direct skin contact and the Blade 18 is simply too large and heavy to use it on your lap anyway. The keyboard area stays much cooler and typing is no issue at all. During the stress test, the GPU consumes the full 175 Watts (~75 °C), while the CPU settles at around 95 Watts (~84 °C).
(-) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 46.8 °C / 116 F, compared to the average of 40.4 °C / 105 F, ranging from 21.2 to 68.8 °C for the class Gaming.

Power Consumption and Battery Life
Our consumption measurements do not reveal any surprises and the large 18-inch screen is not very efficient with around 30 Watts at full brightness while idling. During the stress test, we measure up to 381 Watts, which quickly drops to around 360 Watts, so the 400W power adapter is sufficient.
The battery runtime did not really change, either. Our Wi-Fi test at 150 nits ran for almost 8 hours and 4.5 hours at maximum brightness.
