Review verdict for the Razer Blade 18 - Extremely powerful, comparatively quiet and very expensive gamer

If you are looking for the ultimate gaming laptop in 2026, there are some issues you must deal with. The Razer Blade 18 is one of the best and also quietest gaming laptops on the market, but the new 2026 model primarily shows that the high-end market stagnates and you simply have to pay much more for less memory and storage.

The biggest issue of this model year, however, is the lack of real hardware improvements. Razer launched a completely revised chassis and the dual-mode 4K IPS display (240 or 440 Hz) last year, so the 2026 model does not offer any new components. Nvidia did not launch a new generation of their mobile GPUs, so you still get the GeForce RTX 5090. The new Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus is just a minor upgrade, but the overall performance is pretty much identical to the 2025 SKUs.

Following the memory crisis, the prices are unfortunately much higher in 2026 and the overall price-performance ratio is considerably worse than before. The high-end spec in 2025 with the GeForce RTX 5090, 64 GB RAM and a 4 TB SSD retailed for $4899, while the new 2026 model of the Blade 18 with the GeForce RTX 5090 starts at $5399, but only with 32 GB RAM and a 2 TB SSD. You can still get 64 GB RAM, but you will have to pay another $600.

Our review also shows a small downside in terms of connectivity, because Razer includes a Wi-Fi 7 module, but it is limited to 160 MHz instead of 320 MHz, so the transfer rates are capped at around 2 Gbps. Considering the price, this is a disappointment.
