HP releases new 14-inch laptop globally with 32 GB RAM and Intel Panther Lake processors
Almost two months have passed since HP released the ProBook 4 G2ah with AMD Ryzen 200 processors. While many laptops have arrived with inflated prices or have received post-launch price bumps, the ProBook 4 G2ah 14 was a particularly bad offender in this regard. Despite debuting for around $1,900, the laptop then spiked to $2,186 where it has remained since.
Surprisingly, this pricing strategy has not affected the similar ProBook 4 G2i 14, which is now available globally as a replacement for the older ProBook 4 G1i (curr. $1,599 on Amazon). For instance, pricing currently starts at $1,899 in the US, with HP applying a 41% discount from an alleged $3,232 MSRP. This SKU includes the Core Ultra 7 355 too, one of Intel's mid-range Panther Lake processors that has 8 cores and a 4-core Xe3 iGPU at its disposal.
This price also includes 32 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, but only a 300-nit and 1200p IPS display that covers 45% of the NTSC colour space. Similarly, the ProBook 4 G2i 14 starts at €1,402 in the Eurozone and £1,247 in the UK, albeit with the slower Core Ultra 5 325. A 68 Wh battery can be found across all starting configurations too, which can be charged via either of the laptop's two USB Type-C ports.
For reference, the Eurozone and the UK have received a 400-nit display that boasts superior colour accuracy than its American counterpart at 100% of the sRGB colour gamut.
