Lenovo releases 18-inch gaming laptop globally with more powerful processor and 192 GB RAM

One of Lenovo's most powerful gaming laptops has relaunched with a more powerful processor option. Still available with the GeForce RTX 5080 or GeForce RTX 5090, the Legion 9 18IAX10 now comes with the Intel Core Ultra 290HX Plus to complement its 240 Hz display and up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM.

The Legion 9 18IAX10 is a little over a year old now. Introduced in May 2025, we then reviewed the 18-inch gaming laptop a few months later with the Core Ultra 9 275HX and a GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU. Then in mid-October 2025, we got our hands on the even more potent GeForce RTX 5090 variant (curr. $4,995 on Amazon).

Now, Lenovo has quietly updated the Legion 9 with more powerful models. However, the company has refrained from unveiling a new generation. Instead, it has added the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, a newer Arrow Lake HX processor that Intel unveiled in March. According to our benchmarks, this processor should provide the Legion 9 18IAX10 with around 7% higher CPU performance than when it is configured with the Core Ultra 9 275HX.

The rest of the Legion 9 18IAX10 remains unchanged, though. Currently, the upgraded 18-inch laptop starts at $4,999 in the US with 64 GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU. Alternatively, the GeForce RTX 5090 can be optioned for $6,699.

Meanwhile, the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus has landed in Hong Kong with 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 5080 for HKD 36,752 (~$4,687). At the time of writing, pricing starts at €5,698-€5,954 in the Eurozone and £4,781 in the UK with 64 GB of RAM and the same GPU. Moreover, up to 192 GB of DDR5-4000 RAM remains available to configure, as does the RTX 5090.
