Lenovo launches 17-inch gaming laptop with new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12GB and 165 Hz display
Lenovo has quietly updated another of its recent gaming laptops. In recent weeks, the company has refreshed the Legion Pro 7 16IAX10H, the Legion 7 16AGP11 and the Legion 9 18IAX10, to name but a few. Now, it is the turn of the LOQ 17IRX10, which arrived in January 2025 during CES.
Previously, the 17-inch gaming laptop was available with up to the Core i7-14700HX and the GeForce RTX 5070 8GB, the combination of which impressed us in many areas during our review. Alternatively, Lenovo sold the LOQ 17IRX10 with older Raptor Lake HX processors and the GeForce RTX 5060 or GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU (curr. $1,309 on Amazon).
While these three GPUs remain available, Lenovo has added Nvidia's newer RTX 5070 with 12 GB of VRAM, too. Currently, we cannot find the new variant for sale anywhere. According to Lenovo's PSREF website, the 12 GB version features the same 115 W Total Graphics Power and 2,347 MHz boost clock speed as its 8 GB counterpart.
Moreover, the GeForce RTX 5070 12GB will only be available with a Core i7-14700HX processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Also, this configuration contains a 60 Wh battery with support for 245 W charging. The 300-nit IPS display with a 1080p resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate returns, too.
