Lenovo releases new 16-inch gaming laptop with flagship AMD Dragon Range CPU and RTX 5060

Lenovo has refreshed its 16-inch Lecoo Fighter 7000P gaming laptop with AMD Ryzen in China. Previously offered with an Intel Core 7 245HX, Lenovo has now switched to AMD's Dragon Range Refresh lineup, giving the laptop even more horsepower for gaming and content creation.

Specifically, the new Lecoo Fighter 7000P Ryzen edition features the Ryzen 9 8940HX, a 16-core/32-thread processor that runs at 2.4GHz to 5.3GHz. The chip has a 55W base TDP that can be configured up to 75W. According to PassMark, it is 17% faster than the Intel Core 7 245HX in multithreaded tests but trails by 21% in single-threaded performance. That said, the refreshed version is also faster than the previous Ryzen 9 7940HX thanks to its slightly higher boost clock speeds (5.3GHz vs. 5.2GHz), so it should not have trouble running modern games.

Lenovo pairs the Lecoo Fighter 7000P Ryzen edition with an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU featuring 8GB of VRAM and a 115W TGP. It comes with 16GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. A second M.2 slot means users can easily expand the storage down the road.

Up front, the laptop features a 16-inch display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 180Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches up to 500 nits of brightness and covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Other highlights include an 80 Wh battery, a single-color backlit keyboard, and a cooling system with four heat pipes and three fans.

Connectivity includes one USB-C port, three USB-A ports, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. The Lecoo Fighter 7000P is now listed on JD.com in China and will go on sale on August 4 for 9,799 yuan (about $1,448).
