Affordable AMD-powered Honor laptop launches with 16-inch display

The Honor MagicBook X16 2026 Ryzen Edition now has a new configuration available in China. It's powered by the Ryzen 5 6600U, which isn't really a different processor than the 6600H that was inside the global AMD-powered X16 2025.

Honor has even integrated a 35W TDP mode, which should make the 6600U of the MagicBook X16 2026 offer performance close to the 6600H. Of course, not all the specs of the newly introduced laptop are similar to the global X16 2025.

For instance, the new laptop has a larger battery with a rated capacity of 60Wh, which is a notable jump from the 2025 model. Honor says that the laptop can offer up to 9.4 hours of runtime after a full charge, but it's worth noting that the company adds that this claimed battery life considers "everyday office use."

Another notable upgrade from the international 2025 model is the design. The newer MagicBook X16 2026 looks sleeker, and Honor highlights that it's lighter, weighing 1.69kg (around 3.72lbs).

As for the display of the laptop, it's nothing fancy. Specifically, the AMD-powered MagicBook X16 2026 has a 16-inch IPS screen with a 300-nit brightness rating and a 16:10 aspect ratio. There's full-range DC dimming, and the company says that the overall design is geared for a comfortable user experience.

USB-C charging (Ugreen Nexode Air 100W curr. $35.99 on Amazon), 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and the Radeon 660M iGPU are among the other highlights of the new MagicBook X16 2026 configuration. In China, this new config launched with an affordable price tag, CNY 3,399, around $502. The company hasn't shared anything about an international launch, but it's worth noting that no MagicBook 2026 Ryzen Edition configurations have yet been launched in the global market.
