Huawei MateBook Fold (2026) will launch soon with 18-inch foldable display, stylus, and new ARM chip
Along with the ultralight MateBook Pro S, Huawei will also unveil a new MateBook Fold Ultimate Design on August 5. The manufacturer has now officially confirmed this through a series of teaser images on the Chinese social network Weibo.
These images show the notebook with a foldable 18-inch display in three colors – white, beige, and black. The hinge and frame with a glossy finish, as well as the intricately designed surface of the kickstand, give the laptop a high-quality look. Another new feature is that the MateBook Fold’s 18-inch foldable touchscreen is now compatible with a stylus, allowing users to take handwritten notes or create drawings.
Initial technical details have also been revealed, as Huawei has confirmed that the HiSilicon Kirin X90 will be replaced by the brand-new Kirin X90 Plus, which is expected to deliver 25 percent better performance. The LTPO AMOLED panel, however, is expected to remain unchanged from the previous model. This panel has a resolution of 3,296 x 2,472 pixels, an average brightness of 700 nits, and a peak HDR brightness of 1,600 nits.
When the notebook is half-opened to place a keyboard on the lower half of the screen, the upper half of the screen has a diagonal of 13 inches. Even when folded, the notebook, which weighs about 1.16 kilograms, is roughly the same size as a conventional 13-inch laptop. Users who want to save the weight of the separate keyboard can transform the lower half of the screen into a touchscreen keyboard complete with a trackpad. All remaining details regarding the 2026 version of the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design are expected to be officially confirmed by the launch on August 5 at the latest.
