The Huawei MateBook Pro S has been officially showcased, and it's set to launch alongside other new products on August 05, 2026. Ahead of the full unveiling, the brand has confirmed that this thin laptop will weigh around 1.5x less than the MacBook Neo.

Huawei is gearing up to hold a relatively big launch event on August 05, 2026. Among the new product lineup is the MateBook Pro S, which is now confirmed to be around 1.5 times lighter than the MacBook Neo.

Specifically, the company has confirmed that its upcoming ultra-thin laptop weighs 798 grams (about 1.76lbs). The Apple MacBook Neo (available on Amazon), on the other hand, weighs 1.23kg (around 2.7lbs).

Through the new video teaser, Huawei has further confirmed that the thin and light laptop will be available in five different colorways, and as the clip shows, the rear will come with a camera setup, something that laptops don't usually have. The company didn't explicitly reveal the thickness, but at an official event, it revealed that the MateBook Pro S will be just 11.9mm thick, which is relatively thin for a 14-inch laptop.

At the same event, the company shared that the Kirin XE90 will be powering the laptop, and this chipset is said to bring 23% better single-core performance and 25% energy efficiency improvement over the Kirin X90. For reference, the latter chipset powered the MateBook Pro 2025, which offered decent everyday performance.

The company has yet to officially disclose the other core specs of the MateBook Pro S, but it's expected to feature a 14-inch display with minimal bezels and be available with up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. More official details are expected to emerge before the August 05 launch event.
