Asus launches new AMD-powered OLED laptop with thin and light design

Asus has launched the ZenBook 14 Air 2026 in China, and at the core, it's a slightly different variant of the UM3406GA that the company released in the global market earlier in February 2026. As the name suggests, the thin and light design is one of the main highlights of this AMD-powered laptop.

The company notes that the laptop measures 1.1cm thin (11mm), while it's said to weigh 1.19kg (about 2.62lbs). Compared to the UM3406GA or the UM3406HA, which were released earlier in 2026, the Chinese Zenbook 14 Air is available with a better OLED display.

As Asus highlights, the lightweight laptop boasts a 14-inch OLED panel with 2880x1800 pixels resolution, a peak brightness rating of 1,100 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is said to have a 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. All these should lead to an enhanced viewing experience.

Another notable difference is the battery. While the ZenBook 14 Air packs a 77Wh battery, the global variant released in February 2026 has a 75Wh one. The AMD Ryzen AI 7 H 445 powers this OLED laptop, and it's paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 8000MT/s. As for storage, there's an 1TB SSD, which is upgradeable (2TB Samsung 990 Pro curr. $389.99 on Amazon).

This Gorgon Point APU features the Radeon 840M, which isn't a capable iGPU, but it still has what it takes to handle light gaming and graphical workloads. The port configuration is quite decent as well, especially when the form factor is considered. Specifically, the laptop has the following ports:

• 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
• 1x HDMI 2.1
• 1x 3.5mm audio

Thanks to the USB4 ports, it will be possible to hook an eGPU to this laptop if required. A quad-channel speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, WiFi 7, and a rated 0.2ms display response time are among the other highlights. In China, the ZenBook 14 Air 2026 is available at CNY 9,999, around $1,476.50. Asus is less likely to launch this laptop in the global market, as the UM3406GA is already available globally.
