Affordable Lenovo laptop launches with high-performance eGPU support and 120Hz display

The Lenovo Lecoo Pro 14 Core Edition has been refreshed in China, and this new laptop from Lenovo's sub-brand is powered by a capable Intel Meteor Lake processor. Specifically, it's the Intel Core Ultra 5 135H, which has the 8-core Arc iGPU.

Per our benchmarks, this Meteor Lake iGPU can offer performance that's close, if not the same, as the Radeon 780M. That means it can run most games with the resolution set to FHD and some visual tweaks. The good news is that this affordable laptop has an OCuLink port, which opens the door for high-performance eGPUs.

For those who might not have an OCuLink eGPU setup (Minisforum MGA1 curr. $529. on Amazon), the Lecoo Pro 14 Core Edition has a USB4 port as well. Speaking of which, the full port configuration of the laptop is as follows:

Lenovo further highlights the 14-inch 120Hz display of the laptop. It has a resolution of 2880x1800 pixels, a 400 nits brightness rating, DC dimming, and a 100% sRGB coverage. The thin and light form factor is another highlight, with the company claiming that the system weighs 1.47kg (about 3.24lbs).

While it's thin and light, there's an 80Wh battery inside, which should offer respectable runtimes while handling lightweight to moderate loads. There's support for 100W fast charging through the USB-C port as well.

A 65W cooling system, WiFi 6, a sleek design, support for up to 8TB storage through the M.2 slots, and up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM support are among the other highlights of the laptop. Lenovo is currently offering this thin laptop with 24GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, and the initial price is CNY 4,929, about $727.

It's unclear whether this laptop will be launched in the global market. However, Lenovo tends to rebrand its Lecoo laptops under the IdeaPad line in regions outside China.
