Lenovo has upgraded its flagship Legion 9i 18-inch gaming laptop with new hardware from Intel and Nvidia. The high-end machine now also offers an optional 3D screen for professionals.

In 2024, Lenovo upgraded its flagship offering, the Legion 9i, with top-shelf hardware from Intel and Nvidia. It (understandably) skipped the entire Meteor Lake generation and is now back with new parts from the same OEMs. And this time, there's a new variant with a 3D screen.

As expected, the 10th generation Legion 9i 18 uses some of the best hardware available on the market: an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090. Lenovo plans on offering up to 192 GB of pre-installed DDR5 memory (which will run at 4000 MT/s if ordering the 192 GB model due to SO-DIMM standard's limitations; no such limit for lower amounts). For storage, there are three PCIe Gen 4 slots and one PCIe Gen 5 slot, each of which can come populated with a 2 TB drive, for a total of 8 TB of storage.

Lenovo offers the Legion 9i with two screen configurations. The first one has an 18-inch 4K (3,840 x 2,400) LCD panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate, 3 ms grey-to-grey response time, 540 nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and Nvidia G-Sync support. Its 3D variant offers the same hardware configuration while ditching the panel discussed above for a dual-mode 2,400p 2D / 1,200p 3D option with a refresh rate of 240 Hz or 440 Hz, respectively.

Other Lenovo Legion 9i specs include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two Thunderbolt 5.0 ports, two 10 Gbps USB Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, an RG45 Ethernet jack, an SD card reader and an HDMI 2.1 port. Both variants come with a 5 MP camera, complete with a privacy shutter. The laptop packs a 99.9 Wh battery and a gargantuan 400 Watt power brick.

Initially, the Lenovo Legion 9i will be available only in China. It will launch in the US in the fall. Prices will be revealed closer to launch.
