Conclusion: Powerful mid-range GPU with 16 GB VRAM
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G presents itself as a balanced mid-range graphics card, which particularly impresses with its generous 16 GB VRAM. This configuration ensures future-proof gaming fun, especially with higher texture details in 1,440p resolution.
The RDNA4 architecture provides a good balance of performance and energy efficiency, supported by the modern FSR 4 upscaling technology that can also help with smooth rendering of demanding games.
Compared to Nvidia competitors such as the RTX 5060 Ti, the RX 9060 XT impresses with an attractive price-performance ratio. There are slight limitations in terms of connectivity, as the graphics card can only operate a maximum of three monitors simultaneously.
Overall, the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G is an excellent option for price-conscious gamers who value performance, future-proofing and efficient cooling.

Gigabyte is an established board partner that supplies both Nvidia and AMD graphics cards for the desktop market. With the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G, the manufacturer is launching a factory-overclocked version of the new Radeon RX 9060 XT based on AMD's current RDNA-4 architecture.
The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is also available in a version with 8 GB VRAM. Due to the disadvantages of having low VRAM these days, purchase of the 16 GB model should be preferred.

Build quality and first impressions
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G leaves a high-quality first impression. The design fits in visually with Gigabyte's current line-up. Externally, it is similar to the more powerful models (RX 9070, RX 9070 XT), which we have already tested from our on-board partner Gigabyte.
However, there are minor differences, as the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G is significantly more economical than the two faster models. This results in a somewhat smaller cooling unit, even though a lone 8-pin connector is sufficient for the power supply.
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G comes with — as the name suggests — higher clock rates than the AMD reference model. The graphics card easily reaches over 3.3 GHz, which corresponds to a clock increase of around 200 MHz compared to the reference.
The power limit has also been raised slightly. We noted 182 W in our tests, which gives the card more scope for stable performance under load.
Synthetic benchmarks
A look at the synthetic benchmarks shows where the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G ranks in terms of performance. Performance in these benchmarks indicates that the RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G is a strong mid-range GPU.
The RX 9060 XT Gaming OC is positioned just below the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 but can achieve an average lead of 20% over the older Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060. The gap to the AMD Radeon RX 9070 is relatively large.

Gaming performance without upscaling
First, let's take a look at the native graphics performance of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G without FSR enabled. Our test sample delivers a convincing performance here, which is noticeably better than the previous synthetic benchmarks suggested.
The Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G now duels with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, which delivers a similar performance. The non-Ti model of the GeForce RTX 5060 is at a respectful distance behind the RX 9060 XT.
The 16 GB VRAM, which ensured consistently stable operation in our gaming tests, should be emphasized here. There were no unexpected crashes or blurred or incorrectly loaded textures.
Current graphics cards with only 8 GB VRAM quickly reach their limits in modern games and can no longer display all the details. In tests at 1080p resolution, the VRAM load was already well over 8 GB in some cases.

Gaming performance with FSR
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G takes full advantage of AMD's latest FSR upscaling technology. With the new FSR 4 version, AMD is using AI support for the first time - similar to Nvidia with DLSS.
In combination with the RX 9060 XT, we prefer to use the quality mode of FSR 4, which offers a good balance between performance and image sharpness. This means that even graphically demanding titles can be displayed largely smoothly in 2K.

Emissions
Noise emissions
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G relies on a proven triple-fan cooling design, which is already used in a similar form in other Gigabyte models.
Thanks to the zero-fan mode, the fans are silent when the GPU is not stressed, while a sound pressure level of just under 40 dB(A) is reached under load. The low fan noise level can be subjectively perceived as less disturbing.

Temperature
Although the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G uses a similar cooling design to the larger models in the RX 9000 series, it is particularly efficient under load.
During a 30-minute stress test with Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p Ultra, the performance remains constant, with no thermal throttling or performance drops.

Energy management
The Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G is well tuned in terms of energy efficiency. Under load, the power consumption of the test system is around 310 to 335 W — a value that is absolutely appropriate for its performance class.
The RX 9060 XT Gaming OC 16G does not quite reach the efficiency of the current Blackwell graphics cards from Nvidia in our test.
