Verdict — Faster Performance With Intel
The 2025 Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 16 comes in two flavors: AMD or Intel. After having tested both the Ryzen AI 5 330 and Core 5 210H configurations, we can comfortably say that the Intel version provides up to 50 percent faster multi-thread performance and 10 to 30 percent faster gaming performance than the AMD version depending on the title. Power consumption when running demanding loads is higher overall and so performance-per-watt isn't necessarily all that much better, but WLAN battery life is otherwise quite similar between them.
Buyers who don't plan on using the Ideapad for any heavy lifting may find the Ryzen AI 5 configuration to be slightly cheaper than the Core 5 configuration. The money saved could then be used for additional RAM or storage especially since the IdeaPad Slim 5 16 can support multiple drives and RAM modules at a time. Otherwise, users who like to do a little editing or casual gaming on the side will likely find the Intel configuration to be the stronger deal.

Price and Availability
A touchscreen configuration with the Core 5 210H is now shipping on Amazon for $850.
The IdeaPad Slim 5 16 is one of Lenovo's most affordable 16-inch laptops designed for students or basic multimedia needs. The model can be configured with either AMD or Intel processors with an otherwise identical external design. We recommend checking out our existing review on the AMD configuration for additional information on the physical features of the IdeaPad Slim 5 16.
Our test unit is a lower-end configuration with the Core 5 210H CPU and basic 1200p IPS non-touch display for approximately $800 USD. Higher-end options may ship with the Core 7 250H or 2.8K 1800p OLED 120 Hz display instead. The system competes with other budget-oriented 16-inch laptops like the Asus Vivobook 16, Dell 16 Plus, or HP Pavilion 16.
