After dozens of leaks and rumors over the month, DJI has finally introduced its first-ever 360° action camera, the Osmo 360, in the global market. An immediate rival to this year’s Insta360 X5 and the upcoming GoPro Max 2, the DJI Osmo 360 camera features a 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor, native 8k 360° video recording, intelligent tracking, 128 GB of built-in storage, a 1,950 mAh battery, and gesture and voice control support.

Tired of Insta360’s grip on 360 cameras? DJI has officially entered into the 360° action camera game with its first-ever Osmo 360 camera. DJI’s Osmo 360 is an immediate rival to this year’s Insta360 X5 and the upcoming GoPro Max 2. Speaking of design, DJI went with a simple yet compact design for the Osmo 360. To be more precise, the action camera measures 61 x 36.3 x 81 mm (2.4 x 1.4 x 3.1 inches) and weighs around 183 grams (0.40 lbs).

As far as the camera specifications are concerned, DJI has incorporated a 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor in its Osmo 360, which is capable of ultra-high-resolution 8k/50 fps 360° video recording. According to DJI, it’s an industry-first square HDR image sensor that offers 25% greater sensor utilization. Plus, you can also record videos in up to 4x slow-motion mode. Meanwhile, the image sensor allows the Osmo 360 to capture 360° photos with up to 120 MP to achieve sharp details in still images.

Furthermore, DJI also packs HorizonSteady and RockSteady 3.0 stabilization, which the company claims will reduce camera shake without compromising dynamic motion and offers smooth, shake-free footage on the go. Unlike the Insta360 X5 (curr. at $549.99 on Amazon) with a 2.5-inch built-in touchscreen, the DJI Osmo 360 has a slightly smaller 2-inch touchscreen that outputs at 314 x 556 resolution with 800 nits brightness.

The action camera boasts a 1,950 mAh battery, which is said to last over 100 minutes when recording at 8k/30 fps with 360° mode activated. The battery life is also extendable up to 180 minutes via the Osmo 360 extension rod. For reference, the Insta360 X5 has a slightly bigger 2,400 mAh battery, which is rated for up to 185 minutes. Moreover, it also supports intelligent tracking, gesture, and voice control. The action camera is rated at 10 m (33 ft) and also has cross-platform editing support via the DJI Studio or DJI Mimo app.

Other features include four built-in microphones, 128 GB of internal storage with room for expansion up to 1 TB via microSD card, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and invisible selfie stick mode.

The DJI Osmo 360 action camera standard combo starts at €479.99 and the Osmo 360 Adventure combo is priced at €629.99. The Adventure combo includes the Osmo 360, Osmo Action Extreme Battery Plus, Osmo Action Multifunctional Battery Case, Osmo 360 Protective Case, Osmo Lens Cleaning Cloth, USB-C to USB-C PD Cable (USB 3.1), Osmo Adjustable Quick Release Adapter Mount, Osmo 1.2m Invisible Selfie Stick, and Osmo 360 Lens Protector (Rubber). You can now purchase the Osmo 360 via DJI’s official online/offline store, Amazon, and other authorized retailers.
