Renowned watch manufacturer Swatch just announced the release of a new limited-edition MoonSwatch, titled Mission to Earthphase - Moonshine Gold. This model will be available exclusively on August 9, 2025, which coincides with the full moon, at select Swatch stores. Each customer will be limited to purchasing one unit.
The watch features a navy blue Bioceramic case, crown, and pushers, alongside a white opaline dial and navy rubber strap with Velcro closure. It maintains the 42mm case diameter and 13.75mm thickness standard across the MoonSwatch line (a well-known collaboration between Swatch and Omega), with a water resistance rating of 3 bar. The model reference is SO33N701L.
Functionally, this quartz-powered chronograph has moonphase and earthphase indicators. The dial uses Grade A Super-LumiNova for green glow-in-the-dark markers and hands. The moonphase indicator at the 2 o’clock subdial displays two full moons, both coated with Omega’s Moonshine Gold. The earthphase indicator at 10 o’clock shows the Earth’s oceans, which glow under UV light. It's a neat little detail that adds a lot of character to the timepiece.
The lower left quadrant of the dial sports an illustration of Snoopy and Woodstock in space suits gazing back at Earth. It's a cool design element that ties in with NASA’s historic association with the Peanuts characters. The back of the watch includes another Snoopy reference, with the phrase "I beat everybody…" printed near a depiction of the Earth.
Like previous MoonSwatch models, the caseback includes Swatch’s signature circular text and uses biosourced glass. The watch is priced at $380. Given the one-day-only release format, demand is expected to be high across participating locations.
