Verfict – Compact, quiet, and efficient—with a few minor flaws
The Acer Revo Box RB102-LNL made a generally positive impression in our test and proved to be a versatile mini-PC for everyday use. The Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor offers sufficient performance for office applications, multimedia, and more demanding multitasking. Thanks to the fast DDR5 RAM running at 8,533 MT/s, the system is also very responsive. Other positive features include low-power consumption and good thermal management. Even under prolonged load, performance remains stable, while noise levels remain pleasantly low.
In terms of design, the Acer mini PC offers several practical advantages. The compact plastic case allows for space-saving setup. Alternatively, the device can be mounted behind a monitor using a VESA mount. The selection of ports is versatile, while the ability to install a second SSD and swap out the Wi-Fi module has become standard on modern mini PCs.
However, the Acer also has some weaknesses. In particular, the built-in SSD fails to impress in terms of transfer rates due to its PCIe 3.0 x1 connection and slows down the system compared to more modern competitors. Added to this is the soldered-in RAM, which makes future upgrades impossible. Anyone who needs more flexibility for future upgrades should take this into account.
Alternatives are available, particularly from AMD. Models with Ryzen processors offer higher graphics performance depending on the configuration and, in some cases, better options for memory expansion. The Acer, on the other hand, stands out with its combination of a compact design, low-power consumption, quiet operation, and balanced everyday performance. Those looking for exactly these features and who can live with the limitations regarding the SSD and RAM will find this to be a great mini-PC for office work, multimedia, and everyday use.

Case & Connectivity
The Acer Revo Box RB102 features an extremely compact chassis that can be discreetly placed on a desk. Thanks to the VESA mount, the mini PC can also be mounted behind a monitor to save space. Acer primarily uses plastic for the chassis, which contributes to its light weight. Nevertheless, the chassis feels solid and is sufficiently rigid against twisting in everyday use. The matte finish is also resistant to fingerprints and blends discreetly into various work environments. In terms of connectivity, the device offers a good selection of USB ports, USB4, HDMI, and DisplayPort. The two 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet ports are also practical, enabling even faster wired network connections in addition to Wi-Fi 6E.

Overall, maintenance on the Acer Revo Box RB102 is quite straightforward. The case can be opened from the bottom, providing access to the most important components. However, the RAM is soldered in place and cannot be expanded. There is only one additional slot available for an extra SSD. If necessary, the Wi-Fi module can also be replaced. Cleaning the cooling system is also straightforward.
Test Conditions
All benchmarks were performed using factory settings. Furthermore, the BIOS does not offer any additional modes for adjusting the processor’s performance.
Processor
The CPU performance of the Acer Revo Box RB102 is solid for a compact mini-PC. In the performance rating, the system scores 44.9 points, placing it in the middle of the pack. The Intel Core Ultra 7 256V thus offers sufficient power for typical office applications, multimedia, and more demanding multitasking. Compared to the Intel Core Ultra 5 226V in the NucBox K17, performance is approximately 11 percent higher.

Storage devices
A PCIe 3.0 x1 SSD is used, which achieves only low transfer rates due to the severely limited interface and is thus largely responsible for the comparatively poor performance in the SSD comparison. Under sustained load, however, there are no significant performance drops. Two M.2 slots are available for mass storage, allowing a total of two SSDs to be installed.

Graphics Card and Gaming Performance
The Intel Core Ultra 7 256V uses the integrated Intel Arc Graphics 140V with eight Xe2 cores. It offers sufficient graphics performance for everyday multimedia tasks, high-resolution video playback, and hardware-accelerated media processing. Gaming is also possible, with older and less demanding titles in particular running smoothly at medium to high detail settings. Compared to integrated graphics solutions such as the AMD Radeon 890M, however, the Arc 140V holds its own in benchmarks. Graphics performance remains largely consistent under sustained load.

The Acer Revo Box RB102 mini PC operates pleasantly quietly during everyday use and is sometimes completely silent. The compact cooling system is well-tuned and keeps noise levels low even during typical tasks. Even under sustained load, the Acer Revo Box RB102 shows no signs of overheating. Surface temperatures remain at a non-critical level, while the cooling system reliably dissipates the generated heat. Performance remains stable even during prolonged use, without any temperature-induced throttling.
