Intel Core i5-4460 vs Intel Core i7-4790 vs Intel Core i7-4790K
Intel Core i5-4460
► remove from comparison
The Intel Core i5-4460 is a mid range desktop quad-core processor based on the Haswell architecture. It was introduced in Q2 2014 and is manufactured in 22 nm. The processor does not feature Hyperthreading, and therefore can use only 4 threads with the 4 cores.
The performance is on average somewhere between an older Core i5-4430 (similar but lower clocked) and a new Skylake Core i5-6600T. Compared to mobile processors, the performance is similar to a Core i5-6300HQ. Therefore, the performance should be sufficient for all daily tasks and games.
The CPU also integrates a Intel HD Graphics 4600 called graphics card clocked at 350 to 1100 MHz.
Intel Core i7-4790
► remove from comparison
The Intel Core i7-4790 is a high end quad-core desktop processor using the Haswell architecture. It clocks at 3.6 - 4 GHz and can run 8 threads at once thanks to HyperThreading. Compared to the similar named Core i7-4790K, the 4790 clocks a bit lower and offers no open multiplier for overclocking. The TDP is rated at 84 Watt and therefore suited for Desktop-PCs and large laptops.

► remove from comparison
The Intel Core i7-4790K is a high end quad-core desktop processor using the Haswell architecture. It was announced in the second quarter of 2014 and was the top model of the 4000 series consumer processors. Compared to the Core i7-4770K, the 4790K offers 500 MHz more base and turbo clock speed and reaches 4.4 GHz.
