Updates for all: Official EMUI 10 update roadmap surfaces
Last week, we revealed that Huawei had opened the Android Q beta program for the two-year-old Mate 10 phones. The company has now officially released a list of devices that'll receive the Q-based EMUI 10 update, and when they'll get it.
The first devices to receive the update will be the P30 and P30 Pro, in mid-October. The Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X, Mate 20 RS Porsche, Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor V20, and Honor Magic 2 will receive the update by late October. All of those devices are powered by the Kirin 980 and get top priority.
New mid-rangers like the Enjoy 8s, Honor 10 Youth Edition, Honor 20i, and P Smart+ 2019 will get the update in mid November, while all the Mate 10 phones and Mate RS Porsche Design will get their share by the end of November.
The Nova 4e, Mate 20 Lite, and Enjoy 10 Plus will get the update in early October, with the P20 and P20 Pro coming in next by late-October. The Huawei Mate 20X 5G will receive it at the start of November, and the Nova 5 Pro and Tab M6 8.4/10.8 will get theirs by mid-November, with the Nova 4, Honor 10, Honor V10, and Honor 8X being next in line by late-November. The Honor 9X and 9X pro are scheduled for mid-December.
It's interesting that the Honor 8X is listed. It was launched with Android Oreo and already got the Pie update. Just like its predecessor, the 7X, it looks set to receive two major updates.
According to Huawei, this is a preliminary list and there are expected to be new additions to it over the next few months. The Kirin 970-powered Honor Play is one such device, likewise the Nova 3 phones.
