The Elder Scrolls 6 release date in late 2027 possible, leaks former contractor

Recently, a former Bethesda writer seemed to confirm the title of the next Elder Scrolls game. Now, a contractor who says they assisted the studio has given a promising update on the project. Judging by the progress observed before leaving, the individual believes an Elder Scrolls 6 release date in late 2027 is possible.
Redditor Fez_Sauce shared anonymous messages made by the developer. 4chan leaks are difficult to verify, but the level of detail provided has convinced some skeptics.
Is TESVI closer than gamers thought?
According to the poster, he worked for a “freelance engine house year and half ago.” The message continues, “Based on the level of completion it was at it would make sense to me that they should release it maybe in the next year or so.” That timeline would mean The Elder Scrolls 6 release date could arrive before 2027 ends.
Providing more detail, by early 2025, the leak claims the title was “nearly asset complete visually.” Nevertheless, finishing level design and polishing gameplay could consume Bethesda for at least another 2 years.
The 4chan poster admits that their contribution was limited to implementing global illumination effects. As a result, they may not have been privy to the other challenges the studio is facing. Still, there is reason for hope that an end to a slow development cycle is in sight.
Other positive developments
In a promising sign, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma recently watched a live demo of the open-world RPG. Her visit to Bethesda suggests it’s now in a playable state. She also listed its subtitle with a series of eight asterisks, leading to guesses that it refers to “Sentinel.” Depending on the playthrough’s scope, some areas could need extensive work to be suitable for exploration.
After an extended period of silence, the publisher updated followers in July. Without narrowing a release date, the announcement said The Elder Scrolls 6 is its “primary development focus.” Sharma likely approved of the statement, since she is depending on Xbox’s popular franchises to reverse declining profits.
