Simply Apple iPhone: Exciting iPhone Air 2 future on the horizon, leaker suggests

Apple 's successor to the first iPhone Air will soon feature a second camera, something that was already reported by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman a few weeks ago . So, it’s not all that surprising to see that YouTuber John Prosser also renders iPhone Air 2 with two cameras in his latest video. According to the leaker, the design of Apple ’s next slim iPhone isn’t final yet, but aside from the added 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, it’s not expected to change much.
Titanium and Apple A20 Pro
The other specs mentioned throughout the roughly eight-minute video also sound quite plausible. The case, which is only 5.6 mm thin, is said to continue being made of a strong titanium alloy, unlike the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and will not become thicker, despite a presumably larger battery, the added camera and a new Apple A20 Pro chip manufactured using a 2nm process. The latter will likely also help to reduce power consumption.
New iPhone Air 2 color
According to the leaker, the iPhone Air 2 will benefit from a smaller Face ID camera, which reduces the size of the Dynamic Island and makes room for the new camera. In addition to Space Black, Cloud White and Light Gold, Prosser sees a new Lavender color on the horizon, replacing the current Sky Blue option. By far the most interesting aspect of the video, however, is Prosser's speculation that future entry-level iPhone models will be replaced by the thinner iPhone Air.
iPhone instead of iPhone Air
For John, it would make sense for Apple to only offer the iPhone Pro and the foldable iPhone Ultra next to the standard iPhone that could be based on a future iPhone Air 2 like thin design. Of course, it’s currently completely unclear when—or even if—this will happen. Once the iPhone Air takes over all the features of the regular iPhone, a thicker model could indeed be redundant. That won't happen before 2028 at the earliest though. In any case, the iPhone Air 2 isn’t expected until early 2027, along with the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.
