Third-party Switch 2 games haven’t arrived on the new console as quickly as some owners had hoped. Still, Bloober Team's commitment to the system is obvious, with several projects in development. While the studio hasn’t announced a Silent Hill 2 remake for the handheld, a trusted leaker has confirmed there is interest in a port.
Replying to a follower, NateTheHate2 revealed there is motivation for a Switch 2 release. His statement echoes previous rumors about Konami’s survival horror classic. Debuting in October 2024, it was expected that the remake’s exclusivity to the PlayStation and PC would expire one year later.
Activity on the game’s official website in October 2025 hinted that Silent Hill 2 would soon appear on other systems. Rebs Gaming discovered that the webpage had two additional slots, likely intended for the Xbox and Switch 2. Neither Konami nor Bloober Team has commented, but an upcoming Microsoft event may end the silence.
Another new update from NateTheHate2 addressed the rumored Xbox Partner Preview showcase. He anticipates that Microsoft will soon schedule an event for November. Third-party games should headline the broadcast, with Konami’s horror title as a potential inclusion. Suspiciously, gamers recently found a now delisted Xbox Store page with a November 21st Silent Hill 2 remake release date.
A Silent Hill 2 Switch 2 port could challenge developers
Exclusivity for the title could finally be coming to an end. Even so, an Xbox announcement doesn’t guarantee news about a Switch 2 game. There are also concerns about how the Unreal Engine 5 project would perform on Nintendo’s handheld.
With improved graphics in the Silent Hill 2 remake came reports of stuttering on the PS5 and PC. The modern lighting effects also contributed to frame rate drops. Despite improved Switch 2 specs, Bloober Team had to downgrade the visuals of Cronos: The New Dawn, which also employs Unreal Engine 5.
Even in the face of challenges, the developers aren’t shying away from the handheld. Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition and Project M are two other titles slated to debut in late 2025 and 2026.
