Patch 1.04 introduces a bug in the Labyrinth section of the game. Players have reported that a cube puzzle in the section is not updating as expected, leaving them unable to progress. Bloober Team acknowledged the issue in a Steam post and assured players that a fix would be released ASAP.

Eurogamer is reporting that the latest patch (1.04) for the Silent Hill 2 remake has introduced a bug that prevents players from completing the game. The patch has broken a puzzle in the labyrinth section, where players manipulate a cube to open pathways. Since the patch, some of these areas are not unlocking, leaving players stuck.

The developer, Bloober Team, has identified the issue and confirmed via a Steam post that a fix will be released soon. The bug triggers "if you load a save data from the Labyrinth level (after Toluca Prison) created before applying the 1.04 patch."

In the meantime, as a workaround for players currently stuck at the labyrinth, Bloober Team has suggested loading a save file before entering the section. Players have reported the bug on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Players who own the physical disc version for the PS5 and have a save file before entering the labyrinth can try uninstalling the game, taking the console offline, and re-installing it from the disc without the update.
