Silent Hill's publisher, Konami, is getting player ire for threatening to remove Deluxe Edition content that was mistakenly given to purchasers of the Standard Edition on Steam.

Konami recently confirmed that a glitch in Silent Hill f’s Steam version accidentally allowed Standard Edition owners to access pre-order bonuses and Deluxe content, and stated that the content would be removed in a follow-up patch. This announcement has faced backlash, with fans begging Konami to “let us keep it,” amid frustration over the game’s PC port.

The glitch appeared shortly after the game’s launch on September 25, 2025. Within one day, Konami stated on Silent Hill’s X account:

We’re investigating an issue on the Steam version of Silent Hill f where bonus and pre-order content not included in the purchased edition is temporarily accessible. A patch is scheduled to be released soon. Thank you for your continued support.

The items in question include Silent Hill f’s digital artbook, digital soundtrack, a Pink Rabbit costume, and White Sailor School Uniform for Hinako, along with an Omamori Peony, an Item Pack containing Shriveled Abura-age, Divine Water, and a First Aid Kit. The Digital Deluxe content costs an extra $10 above the Standard Edition’s $70 price.

Players are unhappy with this news, many urging Konami to fix the game’s technical problems on PC. They have shared their frustrations about Silent Hill f’s stuttering issues on various PC setups and the 30 FPS cap during cutscenes, which they claim breaks immersion for those on higher-end hardware.

Silent Hill f has drawn critical acclaim for its story and setting, even drawing favorable comparisons to Silent Hill 2 Remake. However, PlayStation owners have also reported stuttering issues. Players mention worse artifacting and shimmering on the PS5 Pro, which uses Sony’s PSSR upscaling, compared to the base PS5 version, which uses dynamic upscaling.

Players who pre-ordered the physical version of the game in the U.S. via GameStop were guaranteed a Silent Hill f Steelbook case, which customers were required to pick up in-store. But reports from Silent Hill fans have surfaced online, stating that many GameStop locations had a sparse inventory of Steelbooks, with some having zero inventory, despite numerous pre-orders. Scalpers, on the other hand, are listing Silent Hill f Steelbooks for around $100 on eBay.
