If you're into colony builders but RimWorld is a tad too complex for your likes, Stranded: Alien Dawn might be right up your alley. It has a 3D setting and multiple scenarios to start off from, which include a ship crash and military base construction.
In Stranded: Alien Dawn, each survivor has unique traits that come in handy for different chores that need doing. Some are 'interested' in a class of tasks and will learn them quickly if assigned. It starts out relatively simple with basic survival tasks such as building shelters, hunting and foraging. As time progresses, tasks become increasingly complex, and since the number of settlers remains constant, micromanagement is crucial.
At the time of writing, Stranded: Alien Dawn has over 5,000 positive reviews on Steam, putting its rating at 'Very Positive'. Its critics call it out for lack of depth, performance issues and the fact that it uses Denuvo anti-cheat. Others say it feels 'unfinished' and that Paradox Interactive, which took over the game, could have done a lot more with it.
Stranded: Alien Dawn can now be bought on Steam for $13.99. For $19.05, you can get the premium edition that comes with the Robots and Guardians DLC. It adds some new scenarios for players to experiment with and helps keep the game fresh. You have until October 7 to purchase it at the said prices.
