Redmi K100: Xiaomi’s next-gen phone tipped for massive ~54% price increase

The Xiaomi Redmi K90 series was introduced in October 2025 as the company's sub-flagship offering. The series currently consists of three devices: the standard Redmi K90, the K90 Max, and the K90 Pro Max.
A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station has now surfaced on the Chinese social media site Weibo. The tipster suggests that a sub-flagship device in the next-generation series with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset could be priced similarly to current flagship phones. Although the exact name has not been revealed, the leak is expected to refer to the Redmi K100.
Traditionally, the standard model in the Redmi K series has used the last-generation flagship chipset, while higher-end models have used the new-generation chipset. For example, the Redmi K90 used the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the K90 Pro Max featured the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
According to the leak, the Redmi K100 could start at around CNY 4,000 (~$584). For comparison, the Redmi K90 was launched at CNY 2,599, which roughly translates to $380. Meanwhile, a previous leak suggested that the next-generation flagship phones with 2nm-based chipsets would start at around CNY 5,000 (~$730).
One of the key reasons for the price hike is rising RAM and semiconductor costs. As such, multiple companies have already increased the prices of select smartphones in China.
