Xiaomi has detailed the display technology for the Redmi K100 Pro series ahead of its August 11 launch, and the 185 Hz refresh rate is just one part of the story.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi K100 Pro Max will ship with a 185 Hz display, but a new teaser shows that the panel's headline spec isn't the only upgrade. The company has detailed the underlying OLED material, subpixel layout, and brightness figures for the Redmi K100 Pro series ahead of its August 11 launch in China.

New display material

The display uses a new-generation OLED luminescent material that Xiaomi calls M11, marking its first commercial use. Xiaomi claims an 8% improvement in overall screen luminous efficiency, with the green emitter specifically seeing a 20% efficiency gain. Color gamut coverage is rated at 90% of BT.2020, and peak brightness reaches 4,500 nits when measured at a 25% area ratio.

Xiaomi is also highlighting the panel's subpixel arrangement, calling it a lossless full RGB layout in which every pixel contains a complete red, green, and blue triad rather than using a shared subpixel structure. This isn't unique to the K100 series, as the Redmi K90 Pro Max already ships with a full RGB arrangement using the older M10 material and has a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The company also claims that the panel draws less power at 1.5K resolution than two unnamed competing devices, which are shown only as silhouetted bars in its comparison chart.

Gaming-focused features

On the gaming side, Xiaomi reiterates that more than 30 titles will have native 185 fps support, as previously mentioned, and adds that five major FPS titles will receive dedicated 185 fps optimizations. The company also detailed touch-handling features tied to the panel: Hot Zone Touch 2.0 for sharper tap and swipe responses in high-frequency touch areas, AI-based mistouch prevention to filter accidental palm and gesture inputs during gameplay, and optimized touch response for sweaty or wet fingers. The gyroscope has a sampling rate of up to 480 Hz for aim tracking.
