The graphics card is equipped with the AD102 graphics chip, which combines 18,176 shader units in its full configuration. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 is also equipped with the AD102. However, this only offers 16,384 shader units. The Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada generation also has 128 RT cores, 512 tensor cores and 48 GB GDDR6 graphics memory with error detection (ECC).
Performance
The performance of the Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada generation is significantly better than that of the Nvidia GeForce RTX A6000. The differences in performance between the Ampere generation and the current Ada Lovelace generation were already apparent in the consumer sector. As a result, the current top model of the workstation graphics cards can also score with enormously high performance. Thanks to certified drivers, which unfold their full potential in combination with professional applications, even an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 can be outperformed.
Compared to conventional applications, which cannot rely on the performance of specially adapted drivers, the Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada generation is clearly inferior to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. The significantly lower power consumption compared to the consumer flagship makes the difference here.
The Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada generation requires a maximum of 300 watts under load. The graphics card is also designed for stable continuous operation under full load. This is also underpinned by the enormous 48 GB VRAM.

The Nvidia RTX A6000 is a professional desktop graphics card for workstation. It is based on the consumer GeForce RTX 3090 GPU and offers all 10,752 FP32 ALUs of the GA102 Ampere chip. As a formerly known Quadro card, the A6000 offers certified drivers for CAD, DCC, medical and visualization applications.
The RTX A6000 is rated at 300 Watt and is produced by Samsung in 8nm (8N).
