Verdict — Oversized And Quiet
The NucBox K15 is notable for its large size relative to other mini PCs with similar Core U-series CPUs. Consequently, the system runs cooler and quieter than most others while offering more integrated ports including OcuLink and support for up to three internal SSDs. These features in particular help the GMK stand out from smaller alternatives like the NucBox M8 or MSI Cubi NUC AI.
If the distinguishing features above don't apply to your usage scenarios, however, then the large size of the K15 becomes more difficult to justify. It's especially unfortunate that the model still requires an external power brick despite its large form factor. The Beelink GTi15 Ultra, for example, is similarly as large but it manages to integrate a PSU for a cleaner setup process.
Power users may also find the Core Ultra 5 125U to be on the slow side for more advanced tasks beyond HTPC or retail scenarios. For more performance, the existing AMD-powered NucBox K12 is still the much faster option.
Pros
Cons
Price and Availability
Amazon is now shipping the GMKtec NucBox K15 with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD for $600. Alternatively, GMK is offering the barebones configuration for only $360.
The GMKtec NucBox K15 is the latest mini PC in the consumer-oriented NucBox K lineup. It is distinguished from the faster EVO lineup of professional mini PCs, but they all otherwise share similar chassis materials.
The NucBox K15 ships with the older Meteor Lake Core Ultra 5 125U CPU. Other CPU options are available including the Core Ultra 9 295H or Ryzen 7 H 255 which have the same chassis design but with different model names.
Alternatives to the NucBox K15 include other low-power mini PCs like the NiPoGi AM06 Pro, MSI Cubi NUC AI+ 2MG, or Beelink EQ14.

Specifications
Case
Our Intel NucBox K15 utilizes the same physical design as the AMD NucBox K12. The chassis is nonetheless quite large for a Core U-series CPU in order to support more ports, expandability, and easier servicing.
Keep in mind that the 'Fan-Mode' button on top merely changes the RGB colors with no bearing on fan speed or performance. The RGB lighting arguably feels out of place with the overall external design.
Connectivity
Port options are better than most U-series-powered mini PCs owing to the larger physical chassis size. Its two USB-C ports are notable as many competing models from Beelink offer just one.

Maintenance
Sustainability
The manufacturer makes no claims of any recycled materials used during manufacturing. The retail box itself is wrapped in plastic but with otherwise no additional plastic inside of it.
Accessories And Warranty
The retail box includes an HDMI cable and VESA screws alongside the usual paperwork and power brick. The usual one-year limited manufacturer warranty applies if purchased in the US.
Performance
Testing Conditions
We set the Windows power profile to Performance mode prior to running the benchmarks below.
Processor
The Core Ultra 5 125U performs very similarly to the Core Ultra 7 258V in the more expensive MSI Cubi NUC AI+ 2MG when it comes to multi-thread performance. For single-thread performance, graphics, or the NPU, however, the Meteor Lake processor lags behind quite significantly against the newer Lunar Lake-V chip.

GPU Performance
The Core Ultra 125U utilizes the integrated Arc 4 GPU for a performance level that's even slower than the older Iris Xe 96 EUs commonly found on most laptops with Alder Lake. While clearly not for gaming, it nonetheless supports 4K output at 144 Hz for smooth video playback.

Temperature
(+) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 24.2 °C / 76 F, compared to the average of 35.8 °C / 96 F, ranging from 20.6 to 69.5 °C for the class Mini PC.
(+) The bottom heats up to a maximum of 28 °C / 82 F, compared to the average of 36.3 °C / 97 F
(+) In idle usage, the average temperature for the upper side is 20.3 °C / 69 F, compared to the device average of 32.4 °C / 90 F.
Stress Test
The CPU stabilizes at 2.2 GHz, 57 C, and 25 W when running Prime95 stress compared to 3.2 GHz, 66 C, and 38 W on the more expensive Lunar Lake-powered MSI Cubi NUC AI+ 2MG. Core temperature would remain relatively cool at under 60 C when running Cyberpunk 2077 to stress the integrated GPU.
| CPU Clock (GHz) | GPU Clock (MHz) | Average CPU Temperature (°C) | |
| System Idle | -- | -- | 38 |
| Prime95 Stress | 2.2 | -- | 57 |
| Prime95 + FurMark Stress | 2.1 | 1100 | 59 |
| Cyberpunk 2077 Stress | 0.4 | 1850 | 56 |
Energy Management
Power Consumption
Overall consumption is comparable to the Lunar Lake-powered MSI Cubi NUC AI+ 2MG even though the latter offers significantly faster graphics performance for higher performance-per-watt than our GMK. The Meteor Lake-U CPU in the NucBox K15, while still very efficient, is starting to show its age against newer architectures from Intel.
Consumption would peak at 54 W from the relatively large (~13.3 x 5.6 x 3.3 cm) 100 W barrel AC adapter. The system can also be powered by third-party USB-C AC adapters of sufficient output.

Notebookcheck Rating
Quiet, cool, and with plenty of ports, the NucBox K15 is a strong choice for silent productivity and HTPC scenarios, but dated GPU performance and a bulky “mini” chassis limit its appeal.
