DTC shows off 11.6-inch Flybook at Computex

The Flybook powered by the Via VX855 chipset collects compliments at the recent concluded Computex.

 Are companies now moving onto 11.6 inchers? Because the trend in this Computex indicated that many of the companies are shifting their focuses to this category. DTC (Dialogue Technology Corp.) shows off what they call the “Flybook” in this Computex. It has the 11.6-inch panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Apparently it is one of the first one to adopt the new Via Nano VX855 media system processor, which should allow us to play high-definition video at a low processing rate. It doesn’t have a full-size keyboard which is quite hurting for an 11.6-inch netbook. The trackpad is situated below the keyboard and the mouse-buttons stand on both sides of the pad. On the left we have two USB ports along with a VGA port and space for the fan, and the right side has another USB port, microphone and headphone ports, network ports and the DC plug-in. The graphics is taken care of by the Via Chrome9 card. Other features include 1GB RAM, 0.3 or 1.3MP Webcam and 4-in-1 card reader, and you will find it already running Windows XP.

Its price should hover around $400 although exact pricing is not known. The machine should be available in a few months.
