The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP might end up as one of the best monitors for competitive gaming aficionados who can afford it, as it combines a 1,440p resolution, 480 Hz refresh rate, as well as ultrafast pixel response times thanks to OLED technology.

Asus just unveiled the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP gaming monitor at CES 2024. As its name implies, it features a 27-inch OLED panel with a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution; however, the standout feature is that it can hit a refresh rate of 480 Hz, double that of its predecessor, the PG27AQDM (curr. $899 on Amazon).

The PG27AQDP features a 3rd-gen WOLED panel incorporating LG Display's META technology, including an MLA (Micro Lens Array) layer. The latter helps boost peak brightness by 30% (up to 1,300 nits at low APL), with viewing angles also seeing a 20% improvement compared to previous OLED monitors.

Asus is also advertising a 0.03 ms pixel response time, as well as a custom heatsink, which should help with burn-in prevention, thus improving the panel's longevity. Other features include a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro compliance, and ELMB support, which is essentially a form of Black Frame Insertion (BFI).

Asus didn't provide any pricing or availability details for the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP. However, other monitors equipped with the same panel are set to launch during the first half of the year.
