ASUS has overhauled the ROG Zephyrus G14 and its bigger counterpart, the ROG Zephyrus G16. For their 2024 models, the pair have received brand new aluminium cases that reduce overall carry weight, as well as a noticeable LED strip spanning their back panels. ASUS has boosted performance across the board, too, thanks to the choice between AMD Ryzen 8000 APUs and Intel Meteor Lake processors.

ASUS has given the ROG Zephyrus G14 a new look for its 2024 edition. For context, the company is facing ever-increasing competition within the 14-inch gaming laptop space, whether that be from the likes of the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14 or the Razer Blade 14. As usual, ASUS has equipped the new ROG Zephyrus G14 with more powerful internals, including AMD Ryzen 8000 APUs and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU that has a 90 W TGP with Dynamic Boost.

Also, ASUS has included a new OLED display that combines a 120 Hz refresh rate with a 3K resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio. However, the ROG Zephyrus G14 finds itself in a sleeker outfit this time around, with a new aluminium casing reducing its weight to 1.5 kg and its thickness to 15.9 mm. Moreover, the ROG Zephyrus G14 2024 has more powerful speakers than its predecessor, a keyboard with larger keycaps and improved battery life thanks to various AI optimisations.

Meanwhile, the ROG Zephyrus G16 uses a similar design, albeit one that is slimmer than its 14-inch counterpart at 14.9 mm. Unsurprisingly, the ROG Zephyrus G16 is heavier than the ROG Zephyrus G14 because of its larger display panel and housing. Even then, the 16-inch models tips the scales at a mere 1.85 kg. The additional case size allows ASUS to install an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor too, along with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU set at 115 W with Dynamic Boost.

On top of that, ASUS equips the ROG Zephyrus G16 with a 240 Hz OLED panel that outputs at 2.5K with 500 nits peak brightness. Incidentally, both models lose their predecessor's AniMe Matrix displays on their display lids for fewer LED lights arranged in a slash shape that can play simple animations. Although ASUS has revealed specifications and images for both laptops, it has not confirmed pricing or availability for either the ROG Zephyrus G14 or ROG Zephyrus G16 at the time of publication.
