Xiaomi's apparent next CIVI smartphone has surfaced online again, a few weeks after various leakers outlined numerous device specifications. To recap, the possibility of Xiaomi releasing a new CIVI-branded smartphone emerged at the beginning of February. While the device was assumed to rely upon MediaTek's Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, more recent rumours have alleged that the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will underpin the CIVI 4 instead.
Now, Digital Chat Station has spotted the device at the 3C in China sporting 67 W wired charging. For reference, that would merely mean that the CIVI 4 matches its predecessor, which Xiaomi announced in May 2023. As always, the 3C does not refer to the device by its CIVI 4 retail name. Instead, the regulatory body lists the device's model number, 24053PY09C, which Xiaomi has paired with its MDY-15-EQ power adapter.
Incidentally, the same model number recently passed through the MIIT, another Chinese regulatory body. As the screenshot below shows, the MIIT confirms that the smartphone supports 5G connectivity, which is the case for all CIVI-branded smartphones. At any rate, the appearance of 24053PY09C at two Chinese regulatory bodies suggests that Xiaomi is finalising the device's development. To that end, '2405' implies that Xiaomi intends to unveil the CIVI 4 in May, albeit probably only in China initially.
