Vivo has revealed initial information about its first smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. While the company is keeping quiet about plenty of details for now, the device is rumoured to be arriving soon as the iQOO Z9 Turbo.

Earlier today Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, only a week after confirming the chipset's existence. Initially, the chipset manufacturer confirmed that numerous Android OEMs had created Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 smartphones. Since then, Motorola has revealed that the Moto X50 Ultra will use Qualcomm's new chipset, which it will launch globally as the Edge 50 Pro and Edge Plus 2024.

Additionally, Xiaomi has confirmed that the chipset will power the CIVI 4 Pro, as well as an unnamed Redmi smartphone. Also, Vivo has joined the party, although it has not revealed the device's full name yet. Instead, it has outlined that it will offer the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 by expanding the iQOO Z9 series.

For context, only a few days have passed since Vivo announced the iQOO Z9 with a Dimensity 7200 chipset, a large AMOLED display and a 50 MP primary camera. Moreover, the iQOO Z9 has a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 44 W wired charging. Reportedly, Vivo will equip the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 within the iQOO Z9 Turbo, which could feature 80 W wired charging too. On top of that, the iQOO Z9 Turbo is said to contain a 6,000 mAh battery and a 1.5K display, unlike the regular iQOO Z9.
