Information on the chipsets that will power the upcoming Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro have now been revealed, indicating a rather peculiar situation in which the cheaper Poco F6 could actually deliver better CPU performance than the more premium Poco F6 Pro.

The Poco F6 is expected to be a rebadge of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo. Previous reports claimed both phones would be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, but it appears those reports may have been wrong, with a new leak now indicating the presence of another chipset.

According to leaker Kartikey Singh, both the Poco F6 and Redmi Note 13 Turbo will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and not the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 as initially rumored. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is all but confirmed to launch on March 18, and looks to be slightly more powerful than the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.

Interestingly, however, the Poco F6 Pro—identified as a rebadge of the Redmi K70—will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a chipset that appears to be equal to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. On the CPU end, at least. That could lead to a situation where the cheaper vanilla Poco F6 outperforms the Poco F6 Pro CPU-wise. That said, though, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and its Adreno 735 GPU are unlikely to match the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2's Adreno 740, leaving the Poco F6 Pro as the better gaming device.
