Deal | Sonos Beam Gen 2 Dolby Atmos soundbar sees a rare discount
Sonos's Beam Gen 2 has just received a decent price cut, falling to $399.20 on Best Buy and Amazon (sold and shipped by a third-party store). This is a good sale price for the Dolby Atmos soundbar as it hardly sees such a cut from its currently listed price tag of $499.
When it comes to the main highlights, the Sonos Beam 2 stands as a capable standalone soundbar. While it has the same compact form factor as the Gen 1, there are a good number of enhancements on the inside. As the company says, it packs a 40% faster chipset that "pushes the sonic limits" of the unit.
The chip creates two new audio paths that aim to offer a virtual surround listening experience. Speaking of which, the soundbar sports Dolby Atmos support. Paired with advanced processing, Sonos says that the five drivers inside can create "phantom height channels," letting the Beam Gen 2 get you immersed in a multi-dimensional soundstage.
Besides, Sonos has fine-tuned the Beam Gen 2 to ensure high overall clarity, especially for dialogues. This makes it easier to follow along with what's going on on the screen. The soundbar also promises balanced sound at all volume levels, even at low.
Sonos makes the setup process easy with TruePlay tuning. This calibration feature uses your smartphone's microphones to analyze the space's acoustics and optimize the EQ of the soundbar accordingly. The Sonos app also offers step-by-step guidance to get the Beam Gen 2 up and running in minutes.
Other than that, the Beam 2 has Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing you to control smart home devices from the soundbar. It also features Dolby Atmos Music support for detailed playbacks, Apple AirPlay 2, HDMI eARC, and WiFi. You can learn more from the video attached below.
