Zelda: Ocarina of Time pre-orders are enjoying a steep discount before the November release date. With a coupon code, many Walmart shoppers have reserved the Switch 2 game for $49.99. At $20 off, initial physical copies also boast a textured foil case storing cartridges.

Since the Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct, buyers have searched for the best pre-order deal on its featured attraction. While Walmart has already discounted the physical version of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, there's more opportunity to save. Nintendeal highlighted how many fans are applying a coupon to realize a $49.99 sale price.

At Walmart checkout, coupon code SAVE3X reduces the price of the Zelda game by another $10. The offer states it’s valid only on the first 3 pickups or deliveries for new customers. However, on social media, shoppers with older accounts are reporting success. In many cases, shipping is also an option.

Physical games for cheaper?

Even lacking the latest discount, the storefront remains a preferred destination. Digital Ocarina of Time remake pre-orders are also normally $59.99, but first-party physical Switch 2 games are typically more expensive. Nintendo altered its suggested retail pricing earlier in 2026.

Fortunately, Walmart decided to match the eShop as the Ocarina of Time remake release date approaches. Amazon followed suit, giving buyers choices when reserving the Zelda title.

Pre-release date offers vary

Some fans had anticipated a Collector’s Edition with bonus items. As it turns out, the buying options are straightforward. That said, the first run of cartridges uses cases with textured foil cover art. Recently, another packaging alternative emerged that caters to Canadian customers. EB Games is protecting the Switch 2 game inside an N64-style holographic slipcover to celebrate its 1998 debut.

Sadly, the physical copy sold at EB Games doesn’t ship outside the country. Retailers worldwide have stocked other Zelda 40th Anniversary merchandise. During the Nintendo Direct, the company introduced a previously leaked Switch 2 console and Pro Controller. Both are scarce, which has led scalpers to take advantage.

With the SAVE3X code, the $49.99 deal may cause Ocarina of Time remake pre-orders to sell out. Availability of the cartridge has been sporadic at Walmart and Amazon. As a result, sellers have flipped the textured foil cases on eBay for profit.
