Konami revives PlayStation classic with Nintendo Switch remake

Konami has confirmed the revival of one of its more overlooked Yu-Gi-Oh! spin-offs. During Nintendo Direct on September 9, the company unveiled Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX, a full remake of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3, a 2008 PSP title that never received an official Western release. The remake will finally bring the title outside Japan for the first time, rebuilding the game with modern visuals, reworked animations and character models that stay on screen throughout duels rather than appearing only during card activations.

Beyond the graphical overhaul, the remake expands the original game with more than 3,800 cards as well as over 100 fully voiced, visually upgraded characters. New additions include online multiplayer with casual and private matchmaking, refreshed mini-games tied to Duel Academy student life, and a gallery mode revisiting story scenes from the earlier Tag Force entries.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX will launch on February 16, 2027, priced at $49.99, for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are already available, with platform-specific bonuses. Konami has not announced a PlayStation or Xbox version.
