Deal | Nintendo discounts several first-party games by 30% for Customer Appreciation Sale

Nintendo has kicked off its tariff-sponsored Customer Appreciation Sale which runs until September 26. If you have been waiting for discounts on first-party games, now is a good time to get them as Nintendo has slashed the prices of several titles (physical and digital) by up to 30%. There are also discounts on accessories and apparels, but not on the consoles.

It is also worth mentioning that no Switch 2 game has been discounted, which is not much of a surprise as Nintendo doesn't often discount new games. However, since the Switch 1 games are compatible with the Switch 2, these deals are  worth checking out if you own the newer console. Also, some of these games have upgrade fees for the Switch 2 version, so you can buy that too, and save some money on the Switch 2 edition.

Here are some of the deals available right now on the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Store, and Amazon:

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Originally priced at $59.99, the over 9-year old game can be purchased for $41.99 for both digital and physical copies. You can also purchase the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle which includes the Booster Course pass for $59.48 instead of $84.90.

Super Mario Odyssey

This is also down to $41.99 from $59.99, although for a game that is almost 10 years old, a permanent price discount is long overdue. Unfortunately, that's not Nintendo' way of doing things. Nevertheless, there's a lot of fun to be had with this award-winning title.

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Another Nintendo Switch game that is due for a permanent price discount is also on sale. The side-scrolling platformer which has 164 courses is down to $41.99 from $59.99 on the Nintendo eShop but the digital version is slightly less at $41.97 on Amazon.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

In this 2017 open-world entry in The Legend of Zelda series, Link awakens after a 100-year slumber with no memory. Now, you are tasked with helping him regain his memories and saving the Kingdom of Hyrule. Originally $59.99, it is down to $41.99 with a $9.99 Switch 2 upgrade fee, instead of paying $69.99 for the Switch 2 version.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The sequel to the widely-acclaimed Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has also received a 30% discount and can be purchased for $48.99 instead of $69.99. There's a Switch 2 version that is $79.99, but you can buy the Switch 1 version and pay the $9.99 Switch 2 upgrade fee, thereby saving $21.01.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Released in 2025, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is one of the more recent games on this list. Originally priced at $59.99, the game is available to buy now for $41.99. If you have a Switch 2, you are better off buying this and paying the $9.99 Switch 2 Edition upgrade fee instead of buying the Switch 2 version for $69.99.

Luigi's Mansion 3

Luigi's Mansion 3 has you play as Luigi where you are solving puzzles while hunting and vacuuming up ghosts in the haunted Last Resort Hotel with the help of your goo-like doppleganger, Gooigi. Available in single player and multiplayer (offline and online), Luigi's Mansion 3 is now available for $41.99, 30% off its $59.99 price tag.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD

While Donkey Kong Bananza hasn't received a discount because it is a Switch 2 game, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is available to buy for $41.99 instead of $59.99. Originally a Wii game, this version has been visually upgraded for the Switch and also includes the additional levels that were available on the Nintendo 3DS version. It has support for two player local multiplayer, so you can play with a sibling or friend.

Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario Galaxy 2

This remake of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 was released in 2025. It now features enhanced graphics, an improved UI, extra chapters, and a new Assist mode. The best part is that it is also available for the Switch 2 with a free upgrade. You can buy it now for $48.97 on Amazon, which is 30% off its $69.99 launch price.

Super Mario Bros Wonder

Super Mario Bros Wonder is one of the newer Mario games on this list as it was released in October 2023. Like Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, it is a side-scrolling platformer with several courses and interesting power-ups that bring a new spin to the franchise. It is also down to $41.99 from $59.99.

In addition to the games, you can also save on accessories such as the Hori Piranha Plant Camera for Switch 2 which is $29.99 instead of $39.99, while a pair of Joy-Con controllers can be gotten for $62.99 instead of $89.99.
