Alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo also announced new accessories for the gaming handheld. As expected, there will be accessories from third-party manufacturers that will not only offer better features than Nintendo's but maybe even cost less. Those accessories are already starting to show up, and one of them is the Hori Nintendo Switch 2 Camera.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is a USB-C camera that plugs into the Switch 2 for GameChat and to play select minigames. Priced at $50, there's nothing spectacular about its design and its features. It is just a generic-looking camera on a stand. If you want a camera with more panache, then the Hori Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is right up your alley.
Hori is a known brand for Nintendo Switch (OLED model available on Amazon for $339) accessories, and its latest is designed like the Piranha Plant from Nintendo's own Super Mario Bros. games, the camera is hidden inside the mouth of the plant and can be closed when not in use for privacy. Hori's camera accessory connects via USB-C, but according to the product images, the plant part of the whole accessory can be removed from the pipe base and plugged directly into the Switch 2.
The Hori Nintendo Switch 2 Camera is already available to pre-order in Germany on Mediamarkt for €39.99 (~$44). There is no info on pricing for other regions yet. While this is the first Nintendo Switch 2 Camera alternative we've heard of, it most likely won't be the last.
